We are represented from departmental boards to the highest decision-making body, the Board of Governors, and influence everything from the design of individual courses to issues that affect all students at Uppsala University. We are a consultative body and represent students in decisions concerning our study conditions, and promote issues such as all students having access to at least ten hours of teaching time per week and students being seen as active participants, not customers, within the university.

Membership in Uppsala Student Union joining an organization that actively works to ensure the student perspective is represented wherever it affects the conditions of your education. We help students advocate for changes to courses and programs, and your membership gives the union legitimacy and influence when we champion student issues.

We also provide important roles such as Student and PhD student ombudsperson, who can assist you as an advisory body in matters such as examinations, if you feel mistreated, or have other questions related to your education, as well as provide support in disciplinary matters.
