We'll take your case to the university
We are represented from departmental boards to the highest decision-making body, the Board of Governors, and influence everything from the design of individual courses to issues that affect all students at Uppsala University. We are a consultative body and represent students in decisions concerning our study conditions, and promote issues such as all students having access to at least ten hours of teaching time per week and students being seen as active participants, not customers, within the university.

About membership
Membership in Uppsala Student Union membership in an organization that actively works to ensure that student perspectives are included in all areas that affect the conditions for your education. We help students to propose changes to courses and programs, and your membership gives the union legitimacy and influence when we pursue student issues.
We also provide important functions such as Student and PhD student ombudsperson, who can help you as an advisory body in matters such as examination issues, if you feel you have been treated unfairly or have other questions related to your education, and assist in disciplinary matters.
Uppsala Student Union + Mecenat
How do I get the Mecenat card?
To get the Mecenat card, you must be an active student. As a member of Uppsala Student Union you will receive the Mecenat card as a membership card automatically when you are registered in Ladok. If you are not a member of the union you can apply for a Mecenat card here. Make sure you have your registration certificate from Ladok available for uploading. If you have student aid from CSN, you will automatically receive the Mecenat card a little bit into the semester.
Howdoes the Mecenat card work?
Ifyouarea member of the union , the Mecenat card is your membership card. If you are registered in Ladok and become a member of the union , the order for your membership card is sent more or less immediately. Within a couple of hours you will receive an email from Mecenat with a link to create an account on mecenat.com / in the Mecenat app. If you already have an account with Mecenat, just log in to the app. With the Mecenat card, you get access to thousands of student discounts via mecenat.com, both locally in stores and online.
Student discount on SL and UL
Student discounton travel with SL/UL is given to students with a study scope of at least 75%, which corresponds to at least 22.5 credits/semester. Doctoral students must have a registered study activity of at least 75% in the previous or current semester.
OBS! When traveling with SL/UL, you must be able to show a Mecenat card (or Student card) with the SL logo on it. If you do not have the SL logo when traveling, you may be fined.
Always checkyour Mecenat card before you buy travel with a student discount. If you are missing the SL logo but meet the requirements - contact the union or send a registration certificate via the form here.
