We are represented from departmental boards to the highest decision-making body, the Board of Governors, and influence everything from the design of individual courses to issues that affect all students at Uppsala University. We are a consultative body and represent students in decisions concerning our study conditions, and promote issues such as all students having access to at least ten hours of teaching time per week and students being seen as active participants, not customers, within the university.

About membership

A membership in Uppsala Student Union is a membership in an organisation that actively works to ensure that student perspectives are included wherever they affect the conditions of your education, we help students to drive change in courses and programmes and your membership gives the union greater legitimacy and influence when we drive student issues.

We also provide important functions such as student and postgraduate ombudsmen, who can help you as an advisory body on matters such as examination issues, if you feel you have been treated badly or have other issues related to your education, and assist with disciplinary matters.

We provide accommodation and legal advice on tenancies through Studentboet and works to broaden recruitment to Uppsala University by supporting young people in socio-economically disadvantaged areas. Being a member is a commitment that affects the availability and quality of education for you and for others.
