What is a section?
The sections carry out educational monitoring and study social work in a defined field of activity. The area of activity is usually based on one or more faculties.
The work of the Section is guided by a democratically structured Section Council. The structure of the different Section Councils varies slightly, but all have a Chair, Vice-Chair and a number of members. The members are students studying in the field of study and may belong to student associations or be student representatives on the Board of the institution.
The Humanities Section is one of the four sections of the Uppsala Student Union, and operates at the Faculties of History, Philosophy, Linguistics and Theology at Uppsala University. The purpose of the section is to bring the union's activities closer to the students and thereby make it easier for students to influence the situation on their particular campus, department or faculty.
The Social Sciences Section is part of Uppsala Student Union with the aim of bringing the union's activities closer to the students and thus making it easier for students to influence the situation at their faculty. The Social Sciences Section is responsible for student monitoring at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and coordinates and supports its Union Associations in their student monitoring and student social union activities.
