What is a section?
The sections carry out educational monitoring and study social work in a defined field of activity. The area of activity is usually based on one or more faculties.
The work of the Section is guided by a democratically structured Section Council. The structure of the different Section Councils varies slightly, but all have a Chair, Vice-Chair and a number of members. The members are students studying in the field of study and may belong to student associations or be student representatives on the Board of the institution.
The Humanities Section is one of the four sections of the Uppsala Student Union. The sections are all responsible for one of the different fields of study within the Uppsala Student Union's area of activity. The aim of the sections is to bring the activities of the Union closer to the students and thereby make it easier for the students to influence their campus, department or faculty.
The Social Sciences Section is part of Uppsala Student Union with the aim of bringing the activities of the Union closer to the students and thus making it easier for students to influence the situation at their faculty. Our main tasks are to ensure student representation, student influence and to contribute to the development of the quality of education. We also work on health and safety issues for the students we represent.
