The Board of Basic Education (GUN) is responsible for monitoring and preparing matters related to the scientific content of undergraduate education, such as syllabi, study plans and course literature, which to be decided by the Department Board, and is responsible for the evaluation of the activities.

The Department's committee for equal treatment and opportunities (Equality Committee) discusses questions regarding equal opportunities, plans and undertakes measures, arranges seminars for employees, and informs students about its work on these questions. The Equality Committee is composed of the Department's Equality Officer, the Head of Department, and representatives of the Department's four corporations: teachers/researchers, technical/administrative staff, PhD students, and graduate/undergraduate students. The committee welcomes proposals and ideas for its continued work.

As a student representative in the Working Environment and Equal Opportunities Group, you contribute to promoting a good work environment and to counteract discrimination and promote equal rights regardless of, gender, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs disability, sexual orientation or age. Meeting time is estimated at 1 hour per meeting. Travel costs to/from meetings may be included. Digital participation possible.

As a student representative on the Department Board, you participate in the body's meetings where decisions are made regarding syllabi and reading lists, and where other matters are discussed. You may also be be consulted on matters relating to quality development, and be invited to pedagogical discussions and planning meetings. Travel costs to/from meetings may be included.

The Working Environment and Equal Opportunities Group is a preparatory body for issues related to the working environment and equal opportunities.

Preparation of recruitment and promotion cases and applications for admission as an excellent teacher conducting mock lectures and interviews and discussing and revise policy documents related to recruitment and competence issues. Meeting time is estimated at 1-2 hours per meeting. In addition, test lectures and interviews are organized (which can vary greatly).

The Education Committee will work to promote quality in education at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with the exception of courses included in the teaching programs, and in contract education that takes place within the faculty. An important task for the Education Committee is that the education evaluations for which the faculty is responsible are carried out according to the faculty's and UU's model and that the annual follow-up of educational activities is carried out and submitted to the Faculty Board. Other matters for the committee can be, for example, revision of education plans, referrals and other quality issues. The meeting time is estimated at about 2 hours per meeting.

Responsible for issues related to quality assurance and progression in teacher education (preschool teacher, primary teacher, subject teacher program and supplementary teacher training). Meeting time is estimated at about 2h 45 min per meeting.
