The Committee is an advisory and preparatory body to the Area Board on matters relating to the organization, implementation and quality of education, the allocation of funds and matters of principle.

The purpose of the group is to encourage, support and coordinate the collaborative work of the faculties and to assist the Vice-Rector in fulfilling the tasks of the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences according to the University's action plan for collaboration.

The group is tasked with preparing matters for the department's board, drawing up documentation for the department's operational plans, annual reports and development work, drawing up proposals for procedures for work environment management, ensuring compliance with the work environment legislation to which the activities are subject, conducting surveys of the organizational, social and physical work environment, follow up on measures taken in work environment management, carry out risk assessments in the event of changes, ensure the knowledge and skills of employees and managers in the business in the area of work environment and equal conditions, carry out annual follow-up and planning of preventive and remedial measures within the framework of the systematic work environment and equal opportunities work, follow up sick leave statistics.

The task of the advisory group is to prepare matters for the department's board, prepare documentation for the department's operational plans, annual reports and development work, prepare proposals for a competence supply plan, follow up staffing, recruitment and competence development at the department, propose recruitment of fixed-term employment

The task of the Advisory Group is to prepare matters for the Department Board, prepare documentation for the department's operational plans, annual reports and development work, manage and prepare the department's syllabuses at first and second cycle (except for courses in the teacher programs) for decisions by the Department Board, manage and prepare the department's syllabi at undergraduate and graduate level for approval by the department board and later decisions at faculty level, follow up issues relating to progression in education and uniformity between syllabi, prepare targeted investigation assignments, annually take note of summaries of course evaluations and recommend measures based on these and otherwise be a quality driver in educational issues.

The Excellence Panel prepares applications to be admitted as excellent teachers in the Faculty. The group's work consists of reviewing the applications received, submitting them for peer review and finally making a proposal on which persons should be admitted. The group normally meets three times in the spring semester in March - June. A remuneration fee of 500 SEK per meeting is charged for student representatives at undergraduate and graduate level.
