As a student representative on the department board, you participate in the body's meetings where decisions are made regarding, among other things, course syllabi and reading lists, the department's finances and activities.

The Board of Excellent Teachers decides on the admission of excellent teachers within Faculty of Social Sciences. The Board of Excellent Teachers usually meets twice a semester. The meeting is usually 2 hours long.

The Faculty of Social Sciences' recruitment group for lecturers (RG-L) is responsible for the preparation of employment cases in accordance with the Faculty of Social Sciences' supplementary guidelines to the University's employment regulations. The Recruitment Group for Senior Lecturers (RG-L) is responsible for preparing the following types of cases: - permanent appointments as senior lecturer - promotion from associate senior lecturer to senior lecturer - promotion from lecturer to senior lecturer - examination of eligibility as senior lecturer (in cases of reassignment, etc.) Other cases of a similar nature may also arise. In addition to the above responsibilities, the Faculty Board or the Faculty Management may instruct recruitment groups to act as working groups for matters within the committee's area of responsibility. This may include, for example, referrals, proposals for guidelines, nominations, responses to surveys or similar. Meetings are held almost exclusively on Wednesdays between 13.00 and 16.00.

The Recruitment Group for Professorial Matters is responsible for preparing the following types of cases: - appointment as professor (including visiting professor and adjunct professor) - promotion from senior lecturer to professor - employment as associate senior lecturer Other cases of a similar nature may also arise. In addition to the above responsibilities, the Faculty Board or the Faculty Management may instruct recruitment groups to act as working groups for matters within the area of responsibility. This may include, for example, referrals, proposals for guidelines, nominations, responses to surveys or similar. Ordinary meetings are held almost exclusively on Wednesdays between 13.00 and 16.00. About 1-3 times per semester the group also holds full-day meetings/extra half-day meetings for interviews.

The committee is an advisory and preparatory body to the Faculty Board. The Education Committee of the Faculty Board of Social Sciences shall work to promote quality in social science education at undergraduate, advanced and doctoral education within the faculty. The committee shall take the necessary initiatives to to develop the quality of the activities and is responsible for the faculty's annual follow-up of educational activities and that educational evaluations are carried out and submitted to the Board. The Education Committee shall maintain an ongoing dialog with the core activities through the Faculty of Social Sciences' meetings of directors of studies at undergraduate and advanced level and postgraduate level respectively. The decisions delegated to the the Education Committee from the Faculty Board are set out in the Faculty of Social Sciences' delegation scheme.

Under the fields of study there are a number of faculties, 9 in total across the university. The faculties deal with different subject areas and decide on curricula and resource allocation between the faculty's subordinate departments. The work is governed by a faculty board whose chair is called the dean. The assignment also gives you extra points when applying for exchange studies. Meetings are held almost exclusively on Thursdays between 09:15-12:00. The academic year usually with a boarding school and this year the boarding school takes place between September 4-5 at another location. The meetings are preceded by a pre-meeting (Monday of the week of the the Board meeting at 09:00) with all student representatives, the Board's secretary and the dean. During the pre-meeting, which lasts about 30 minutes, the secretary goes through the agenda and the representatives can ask questions and raise their views. This is is a good opportunity to raise issues before decisions are made at the Board.

The role of the Program Council is to provide a forum for discussion of program-related issues of primary concern to the program and students. In addition to the Program Council, the student representatives are expected to contribute with the students' report to the Annual Reporting Plan (AARP).

The group's task is to pay attention to issues and updates in the field of work environment and equal opportunities and meets about twice a semester to discuss current issues and plan the implementation of activities. The group includes the HR generalist (convener), two lecturers, head of department, two doctoral students, equal opportunities officer and safety officer.
