Blog from ENLIGHT Teaching & learning conference

On October 8-10, there was an ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference here in Uppsala and I had the opportunity to participate. ENLIGHT is a university network consisting of ten universities in Europe where students get the opportunity to participate in an international study environment in the way that suits them best!
This year, the focus of the conference was "playfulness for the Future of Higher Education" and it all started with a very funny magician who made the entire university auditorium of about 200 people laugh early in the morning. But of course it wasn't all fun and games, it was important stuff too!
ENLIGHT also presents awards for student initiatives at the conference, and I was there to receive an Inclusion award for the work on the Equal Opportunities with What Resources report that the union released in March. It was an incredible opportunity to talk about what the union has done so far, the way forward with the report and the work with the student representatives, and to be recognized for such important work. In total, three Inclusion projects were highlighted and given the opportunity to present their work, and I was able to listen to inspiring presentations from students who are all working to improve their and others' study environment.
If you also think it sounds fun, you can take the opportunity to become a student representative in the liakvillkors groups! Applying is very easy and you get the opportunity to directly influence issues you think are important.

Dean's boarding school fall 2025
Two weeks ago, as President of Uppsala Student Union , I had the chance to attend and participate in a boarding school organized by the University at Stora Brännbo in Sigtuna. These kinds of events are important for student influence because we get closer to the university, the executives and all the ongoing, and perhaps longer-term, issues that are relevant to the development of the whole university.
