Student Representation

Student representation exists to ensure that students have a say in their own education. Student representatives represent the views of students wherever decisions are taken or prepared at the university that affect their education or situation.

As a student representative, you will receive ongoing training and information from the union on how best to carry out your role, and you will have the opportunity to push issues and bring about change. The training is tailored to the needs and wishes of the student representatives. In addition, you will receive support from the other student representatives in the Student Representative Council, from the union's paid and employed staff, and from the university.

What do you get as a student representative? An opportunity to have a real impact, a good merit on your CV, a chance to make contacts both within the university, the union and with other students, learn more about how the university works and of course remuneration for many assignments.

Award Committee for the Swedish Medical Faculties Internationalization Award

Faculty of Medicine

In 2017, Sweden's medical faculties established a joint prize for the internationalization of medical education at undergraduate and graduate level. The purpose of the award is to stimulate efforts and encourage initiatives to increase the focus on internationalization and to recognize teaching staff for the work they do. The Faculty of Medicine needs a student representative in a prize committee for the Swedish Medical Faculties Internationalization Prize. We will have a selection meeting sometime in the first half of March 2026. The assignment thus extends between March 1 and April 1, with the following estimated scope: preparatory work about 2 hours, meeting time about 2 hours = a total of about 4 hours. If possible, a student from a bachelor's or master's program with an interest in and preferably experience of internationalization of education, for example through participation in internationalization at home, program-wide internationalization group, international mobility or the like, is desired.

Reference group for pedagogical development project on reading in humanities education

Other

The project aims to develop pedagogical principles and methods that support humanities students' reading skills. The effects and consequences of digitization on reading habits in higher education and society at large are still understudied. However, it is clear that the current generation of university students, growing up in an increasingly digitalized and multimedia society, has learned and become accustomed to engaging with texts in a way that differs from previously common practices from the analogue era. Without passing judgment on the differences, we seek to understand their implications for developing new pedagogical approaches that can support both university teachers and students in their use of reading tasks as an integral part of higher education. To this end, the project will have a reference group with student representatives from the Faculty of Linguistics and Faculty of Arts.
