As a student representative on the Department Board, you participate in the body's meetings where decisions are made regarding, among other things, course syllabi and reading lists, and where other matters are discussed.

The Council meets around 3-4 times per semester to monitor the quality of education. The council is chaired by the director of studies for advanced level. The program councils cover three master's programs (Early Modern History, Modern History and Holocaust and Genocide Studies). We are looking for 4 students in total, 1 student from year 1 and one student for year 2 for Early Modern History, 1 student for year 1 for Modern History and 1 student for year 1 for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. The Program Council meets three to four times per semester, usually on Tuesday afternoon. The meetings take 1 hour and require very little preparation.

The mission of the Centre Board is to ensure the high quality of the Centre's activities. The Board decides, among other things, on the operational plan and the budget.

In terms of education, the department board is responsible for, among other things, course syllabi and educational offerings. Sometimes you may be asked to participate in groups that work with quality development, pedagogical discussions or equal opportunities.

The Board is the highest collegial body of the institution, deciding on curricula, initiating the recruitment of new lecturers, budget, annual accounts and others, and it also serves as a forum for discussion on management issues. Board meetings are usually between 1-2 hours long.

The group discusses and acts as a support to the Head of Department on equal opportunities issues, and usually develops an action plan for equal opportunities issues in the department. Meetings of the group usually take an hour, plus an hour or so of preparatory work. There may also be more work depending on any projects the working group is involved in.
