As chair of the Humanities Section, also known as Humsek, you are responsible for one of the four sections of the Uppsala Student Union. The role involves leading the section’s activities and ensuring strong student influence within the section’s academic field and faculties. This is achieved through student representation, monitoring academic conditions, advocacy efforts with the university, and collaboration with the humanities student associations. The section chair serves on the executive committee and is responsible for convening executive committee meetings, as well as chairing and convening section council meetings where all humanities student associations are represented. The section chair is also a member of the Uppsala Student Union’s board.

The assignment is a 25% position and runs through June 30, 2027.

The Uppsala Student Union offers a range of resources, including training programs, policy documents, staff who work full-time on student issues, and office space in the student union building.
