A Section needs a Chair who can keep several balls in the air at once. Who can thoughtfully maintain contact with multiple stakeholders for different purposes, and who is able to prioritize correctly when needed.

As chair of the Social Sciences Section, you have a central role in shaping and running the section's activities. You have the main responsibility for the section's work, which means leading and coordinating an executive committee of 7-11 people, as well as balancing the needs of Uppsala Student Union, the section and its student unions to find common solutions. You also represent the section in several different forums, both as a student representative for the social science students in various university bodies, but also by attending sessions, meetings and meetings on behalf of the section.

You also need to be prepared to be involved in important and topical student issues and to discuss these with relevant student groups, stakeholders from the union, union associations or the university. Although a lot of responsibility lies on the shoulders of the President, you will always work together with the rest of the Section's Executive Committee.

The assignment involves approximately 10-20 hours of work per week, with remuneration.
