Chair of the Section of Social Sciences/Chair of the Section of Social Sciences

As chair of the Social Sciences Section, you will play a central role in shaping and driving the section's activities. You will have primary responsibility for the section's work, which involves leading and coordinating an executive committee of 7-11 people, as well as balancing the needs of the Uppsala Student Union, the section, and its student associations in order to find common solutions. You will also represent the section in various forums, both as a student representative for social science students in various university bodies and by participating in dinners, gatherings, and meetings on behalf of the section.

You are expected to be responsible and have good judgment, with the ability to juggle many tasks at once. You find it easy to collaborate and connect with others, but are not afraid to stand your ground when necessary.

You need to be prepared to stay up to date on important and current student issues and discuss them with relevant student groups, student union representatives, student associations, or the university. Although much of the responsibility rests on the chair's shoulders, you will always work together with the rest of the section's executive committee.

The assignment involves approximately 10–20 hours of work per week, depending on the fee rate.
