Vice President with academic responsibility for the Humanities Section

As Vice Chair with responsibility for academic monitoring in the Humanities Section, you are a member of the Executive Committee. Your primary role is academic monitoring—reviewing and ensuring the quality of programs at the humanities faculties. You share this responsibility with the Section Chair, and you will jointly agree on an appropriate division of labor. The section’s academic oversight is constantly evolving, and you have free rein, in consultation with the chair, to influence and focus on the areas you deem appropriate. As vice chair with responsibility for academic monitoring, you will also serve as project manager for the section’s career fair, “Humanioradagen,” though you are not expected to plan this event on your own; rather, it is a collaborative effort involving the entire executive committee.

Common duties for a vice chair responsible for monitoring academic progress include

  • Represent humanities students in various university bodies.
  • Help the section's student associations with their monitoring of academic affairs.
  • Plan a job fair.
  • Assist the chairperson in their representative duties.

The Uppsala Student Union offers a range of resources, including training programs, policy documents, and staff who work full-time on student issues, as well as office space in the student union building.

Please write a statement of purpose and list your relevant qualifications explaining why you wish to serve as vice chair of the Humanist Section at the Uppsala Student Union. The term of office runs until June 30, 2027.
