The highest collective decision-making body is the institutional board. It is elected for a term of three years and is composed of members who have a permanent appointment of at least fifty percent. The main executive function of the Board is to adopt the budget, financial statements and business plan. In addition, the Board decides on guidelines for the organization of teaching and examination, and establishes and revises course syllabi. The Department Board also discusses and prepares decisions that the Head of Department is formally required to make, as well as decisions made by the Faculty Board after obtaining proposals from the department. Examples of such issues are guidelines for activities, measures in response to audits and evaluations, internal organization and initiation of recruitment to teaching positions. The scope of the assignment is estimated at 1-2 hours for preparation per meeting, plus a meeting of 1.5 hours.

The Program Council is a complement to course evaluations. The Program Council is organized twice a semester or on request and is a chance for students to ventilate and discuss thoughts and opinions about the program. The Program Council is intended to be a forum for student influence and will also prepare matters for the Board when relevant. The composition should be 1-2 students per year within the program. The Director of Studies is the convener and the Council will meet once a semester. The Council may meet between meetings for less formal discussions.

The Nomination Committee's task is to provide the Faculty Board with proposals for members of the Faculty Board, Dean and vice-dean. In its proposal for the Faculty Board, the Nomination Committee shall take into account the need for the Head of Department and Deputy Head of Department are members of the Faculty Board. The nomination committee shall also make proposals for faculty representatives in the Assembly of Electors and for other elections as mandated by the Faculty Board and the Rector. The mission of the Programme Council is to be a forum for discussion of programme-related issues for the institution that mainly concern the programmes and the students. The aim is to strengthen the quality of the program and promote its development, as well as to act as an advisory body to the program coordinator. Some preparation for each meeting (about 30 minutes), mainly to check with fellow students about their views on the program. Provide a short written report on the strengths and weaknesses of the program once a year.

As a student representative on the departmental board, you participate in the meetings of the body, where decisions are made regarding, among other things, syllabuses and reading lists, and where other matters are discussed. You may also be consulted on matters concerning quality development, and invited to pedagogical discussions and planning meetings.
