The GAGA group at the Department of Nutritional Sciences
Department of Food Science
Faculty of Social Sciences
GAGA is a group responsible for education at the basic and advanced levels. The group is led by the director of studies for the basic and advanced levels, who also serves as the convener. Other members include the program coordinator, the program director for home and consumer studies (if there is someone with this role), the educational coordinator (if there is someone with this role), two faculty representatives (for the undergraduate and graduate levels, respectively), and two student representatives (one for each program). The group prepares matters concerning programs and courses, which are then decided upon by the Faculty Board and the Department Board, respectively. The group also addresses issues such as opportunities for joint teaching and collaboration between different programs and courses. Various pedagogical issues, as well as needs for professional development, may be initiated by the group. Furthermore, progression, forms of assessment, course literature, subject didactics, as well as the quality and content of education, are other examples of issues the group will address collectively. The intention is for the group to have an overview of the department’s various courses and programs and thus be able to work collectively on various aspects of quality and pedagogy. Student welfare issues and other matters concerning education at the basic and advanced levels may also be addressed by the group, e.g., whether teaching should be organized in teaching teams. A student from the Nutrition Science program is requested. The meeting time is estimated at approximately 2 hours per meeting.
