Educational evaluation at the University of Gothenburg

Educational evaluations

This fall, the Faculty of Social Sciences (Samfak) at the University of Gothenburg (GU) will conduct an evaluation of the following programs (which we have found to be the same or similar at one faculty): Sociology (Master's) at the Department of Sociology and Work Science, Global Studies (Bachelor's, independent courses & Master's) at the Department of Global Studies, Political Science (Bachelor's & Master's) at the Department of Political Science, International Administration and Global Governance (Master's program) at the Department of Political Science Samfak is looking for a student representative who is interested in participating in the assessment group that will review GU's programs. The student's status as a student representative will be decided by Samfak. The faculty will cover travel and hotel accommodation. Lunch and refreshments during the visit will also be provided for the student representative. The assessment work itself will take place during the fall semester of 2026, with a digital kick-off meeting and a site visit in Gothenburg. Together with the other members of the assessment group, the student representative will read and analyze documentation related to the program. The student representative will also, together with the assessment group, meet and interview people from the programs during a full day in Gothenburg. In addition to the student representative, the assessment group consists of experts from other higher education institutions. The assessment group is led by a chair. The preliminary schedule is as follows: September: Digital kick-off meeting with information about the process Reading of written material October/November: A full day (or two half-days) in Gothenburg where the assessment group interviews representatives from the program The assessment group writes a statement (approx. 5 A4 pages) December: Digital feedback meeting where the report is discussed Final assessment report submitted.
